Move

Never underestimate the power of a small step taken in the right direction.

Your Heart Was Built for Movement

Most of us think of exercise as something we have to fit into our already busy lives. A gym session. A run. A fitness class.

But what if movement isn't another task on your to-do list?

Your heart doesn't care whether you're training for a marathon or dancing in your kitchen while dinner is cooking. It doesn't know whether you're counting steps on a smartwatch or strolling through a park with a friend. What matters is simply that you move.

Thousands of years ago, movement was woven into daily life. We walked to gather food, worked outdoors, carried water, climbed hills and played with our children. Today, many of us spend hours sitting at desks, in cars, or on the sofa. Our bodies haven't changed, but our lifestyles have.

The good news? Your heart responds positively every time you get up and move.

A five-minute walk can boost circulation. Stretching while the kettle boils can wake up your muscles. Gardening, dancing, housework, swimming, cycling, playing with grandchildren, practising Tai Chi or walking the dog all count.

Movement is not a punishment for what you ate yesterday. It's a gift to the body that carries you through life.

So instead of asking, "How can I fit exercise into my day?" try asking:

"How can I add a little more movement to my day?"

Take the stairs. Park further away. Walk while making a phone call. Put on your favourite music and dance like nobody is watching.

Your heart doesn't demand perfection. It simply loves movement.

And every step, stretch, sway and stroll is a step towards a healthier, happier you. ❤️
